This game tells the legend of the historical character Gonzalo Pizarro - a real Spanish conquistador. Gonzo's Quest slot machine has fun 3D graphics and animations, and takes us on a quest to find Eldorado, a fictional golden city.
The game begins with a short but very fun animated video that tells the player the story of Gonzo, where he jumps off the ship into the water to begin his own quest for gold. Once the video ends, you are immediately taken into the game with five reels and 20 paylines, and Gonzo takes his place on the left side of the screen where he waits and watches to see how much gold you can win from him.
The Theme
Gonzo is quite a jolly fellow, dressed in a funny conquistador uniform. He scratches his beard and twirls his helmet on his finger when he gets bored, and if you win money, Gonzo will immediately start dancing. He's even willing to perform the moonwalk if he's particularly impressed with the payout.
All images on the screen are very well drawn, and on the background you can see the Inca temple, a large number of different vegetation and water fountain, beating from the face carved in stone. Background sounds and noises make you feel as if you are really in the Central American jungle, and when the symbols fall, the sound is like real stones falling.
All symbols are in the form of square stones with realistic Inca carvings in the form of some animal or human face. Each stone has its own color: pale blue is the least valuable symbol in the game, pink comes next, then brown, purple, gold, green and, finally, grayish-blue face with gold trim is the most profitable symbol in the game.
The wild symbol is a gray stone with engraving, a gold question mark and a circle, while the free fall symbol is an all-gold medallion with a face in the middle.
Features
The traditional reels that you would see in most slot machines are replaced in this slot by the new Avalanche feature, which makes the symbols fall to their places individually as if someone is dropping them from above. When symbols form a winning combination on a payline, they explode in a fun 3D fashion and more symbols fall into the vacated cells. If the fallen symbols form a winning combination again, you get a payout again. Each additional win gets you a multiplier. If you reach the maximum multiplier, all symbols disappear from the screen and 15 brand new ones fall out. With the Avalanche feature extending the gameplay in a certain way, you get more chances to win on each spin.
Bonuses
Collect three or more gold free fall symbols on one payline and you will earn ten free spins. The multiplier increases during free fall mode, so you can earn a multiplier of up to 15x in bonus spins mode. Bonus coins are also dropped from this symbol. When this happens, Gonzo rushes forward to catch falling gold coins with his helmet, and the screen displays the number of your winnings.
The Game
Although it may seem like the Avalanche feature might slow down the gameplay a lot, the symbols actually fall very quickly. The multiplayer counter at the top left of the screen allows you to keep track of all your multiplayer wins, as well as the size of the multiplayer. An advanced Autoplay mode is also available in this slot machine and allows you to program at what point in the game the automatic play should stop.
